Lactic Peel Preparations

To prepare your skin for your chemical peel, please follow the guidelines below.

5–7 Days Before Your Treatment

Please discontinue the use of the following products and treatments:

• Retinoids (Retinol, Retin-A, Tretinoin, Adapalene, Differin)
• Exfoliating acids (AHAs, BHAs, glycolic acid, salicylic acid, lactic acid)
• Benzoyl peroxide
• Physical scrubs or exfoliating brushes
• Dermaplaning or waxing in the treatment area

• At-home chemical peels

Excessive sun exposure or tanning beds (this should be a bullet point)

2 Weeks Before Treatment

Avoid the following:

• Laser treatments or strong resurfacing procedures
• Injectable treatments in the treatment area unless approved by your provider

24–48 Hours Before Treatment

• Avoid shaving the treatment area
• Avoid intense exercise that may irritate the skin
• Keep skincare simple and gentle

Day of Treatment

Please arrive with:

• Clean skin (no makeup if possible)
• No active sunburn or irritation
• A list of current skincare products or medications if you are a new client

Important

You should reschedule your appointment if you currently have:

• Active cold sores or herpes outbreak
• Open wounds or broken skin
• Severe irritation or sunburn
• Recent cosmetic procedures in the treatment area outside of our avoidance recommendation window
